I promised you some posts about my new hobby – running – so here’s the first. I’ve often wondered what the attraction of jogging is while I’m driving in my warm, comfrotable car, but I can say with experience that once you’re bitten by the bug it’s very difficult to stop. I started running a few months ago, and the steady profress that I’m making is a real motivation booster. Here’s some of the reasons why I love running.
- There’s nothing more relaxing (in a strange way) than putting on some good music and going on a jog. It takes your mind off everything else, and makes it a lot easier to relax when you get home. One thing I’ve learnt is that going for a jog seems to actually wake me up rather than make me tired, so don’t think that just because you’re tired that you can’t go on a run.
- It’s great for keeping fit. Yes, I know it’s not the best type of sport for keeping the joints young and supple, but it gives you a good workout.
- You can go running straight from your home. I know it’s lazy, but there’s been countless times where I SHOULD of gone to the gum, but the thought of driving there puts me off. You don’t need anything to go running, apart from a good pair of running shoes of course.
- You can be competitive or take it slow. Most people only run against themselves, so it can be as competitive as you want. Don’t over push yourself though, otherwise you might get an injury which can be frustrating (had a few of those already).
So do we have any other running fans hear? Hope so! Do you like to run on roads or trails? Do you do races? Let me know in the comments form.
