If you’ve done any running then you’ll know how important running shoes are – so it’s really essential that you find a good pair. A lot of runners seem to think that there is a best pair of running shoes and no other is as good. This is a stupid attitude in my opinion – every runner is going to have his or her own little quirks, and the only important thing is finding a pair of running shoes that deals with this and complements your style. Remember, attractiveness always comes second when it comes to running shoes!
At the moment I’m using the Asics Gel Strike 2 – mainly because I go through a lot of pairs and it’s relatively cheap. I wouldn’t say these are the best running shoes for me, but they definitely do the job and are fine for short to medium road running. If I was going to start doing races again (which I will) then I’ll switch to something more expensive but with greater protection and cushining, such as the Kayano series.
The easiest way to get a good pair of shoes is to visit a running shop. If you’re lazy, then you could always just find your best running shoes by visiting Brute shoes – they have a good selection of reviews there.
So, what are your best running shoes? Do you think that running shoes are understood well enough in the jogging community? You can probably tell by the tone of this post that I think most runners have a long way to go when it comes to deciding on a good pair of shoes, but that’s something I’ll leave for another post. After all, it’s the New Year and I don’t want to appear grumpy to my readers!
